Now that Duolingo is gamified and has very little thought process, I'd recommend the workbook Spanish Verb Drills by Dorothy Richmond as a primary beginner resource used in conjunction with Duolingo, Memrise, etc. That particular workbook was an incredible resource for me early on, and it covered so much more than just verbs.
